Ruttab is an earlier, softer, moister ripening stage; tamr is a later stage with less moisture. Variety also affects texture. Check the product name and storage label.
For ruttab purchased from Themar Al Alia, place it in the freezer immediately after receipt and keep it frozen.

Choose the pack, then compare the value
- Check the net weight of the option selected in your basket. A product may offer more than one pack size.
- Compare like with like: the same variety, grade and weight. Price per kilogram = pack price ÷ pack weight in kilograms. For a 500 g pack, multiply its price by two to compare it per kilogram.
- Choose a quantity that fits your household, occasion and storage space. For a new variety, starting with a smaller available pack can help you decide what you prefer.
- For business quantities, send the exact product, pack weight and number of packs or cartons. State whether each quantity is in kilograms, packs or cartons.
Store your order with care
- Ruttab: put it in the freezer as soon as you receive it and keep it frozen.
- Dates and other foods: follow the storage instructions and expiry date on their packaging. After opening, follow any additional instructions and close the pack securely.
- Keep dates protected from moisture and strong food odours. Do not judge shelf life from appearance alone.
- Check ingredients and allergen information on filled dates, sweets and nuts before serving. Ask us before ordering if anything is unclear.
The return-request periods — 24 hours for ruttab and 7 days for dates, subject to the published conditions — are not the products' shelf life. Read the return policy.
